Interested in Volunteering?

Griffin Elementary welcomes our dedicated volunteers to the 2025/26 school year!

All volunteers must complete the online application or Level 1 screening.
Level 2 screening must be completed for volunteers serving as coaches or overnight chaperones. The school administrator must send an email to the Security Clearance office.
BCPS employees are not required to complete the online application. Any employee who would like to volunteer must sign in as a visitor and document their hours using a Volunteer Attendance log.

NOTE: A valid social security number is required to screen all individuals who would like to volunteer.

Book Fair: Our semi-annual book drive for parents, children, and faculty.

Charitable Projects: The Holiday Toy Drive help families in need right here in our school.

Family Nights: Our internal family events that give families time to get together and have a night out.

Icee Sales: Parents take part in selling icees every other week after school. A portion of the proceeds go to the funding of special events.

Grandparents Day: Our annual grandparents day breakfast event held during our bookfair.

Holiday Shop: When our children shop for presents for the holidays in our shop.

Math Superstars: Promoting math education with weekly extra assignments.

Publishing Center: A wonderful program that allows children of all ages to write their own story.

Room Parents: Each classroom needs at least one parent that will assist the teacher with special activities.

School Pictures: Pictures taken professionally of the children a few times a year.

School Store: A monthly shop where children can purchase school supplies and other items.

Yearbook: Collection and assembly of our wonderful yearbook.

Photographer: Photograph students at school events for the yearbook.

Business Sponsor: Asking local businesses to sponsor our school through the banner program.
